Which payment is fastest to activate?

Ozow, SnapScan, Zapper, Capitec Pay, Yoco and card payments confirm on the payment side straight away; activation then happens on WhatsApp. This page does not publish a fixed activation delay.

Manual EFT waits for the funds to clear in our account before activation. If you want to avoid the clearing wait, pick Ozow — it's instant EFT.

Which payment is most private?

If your priority is minimum information shared, the privacy ranking is: Bitcoin > Capitec Pay > Ozow > SnapScan > Yoco > Visa/Mastercard direct entry.

We collect only what's required to deliver your subscription (your phone number for WhatsApp delivery, your name on the payment, the plan you purchased). We do not sell or share your data.

No recurring billing trap

Mzansi Stream does not enrol your card or bank in any recurring debit order. Every plan is paid once for the period you selected. When the period ends, your subscription expires unless you actively renew via WhatsApp — no surprise R1,199 charge at midnight on month 13.

This is the opposite of the DStv / Netflix / Showmax model and it's deliberate. We'd rather you actively choose to renew than 'forget' you're paying.
